Dear Local Business Owner,
Thank You for your continued support of our softball program! Your support is greatly appreciated! Because of you, we have been able to provide the program with team apparel, uniforms, field updates, bats, free youth clinics, and other team equipment! We were also able to replace the outfield fencing and purchase a new pitching machine that will pitch a fastball along with a curve ball, screwball, drop ball and a rise ball all by both a right and left-handed pitcher.
This last season we went 15-7 and lost in the sectional tournament. Our IVC South record was 10-2 which was good enough for a second-place finish behind the one-loss Indian Valley Braves. Our two IVC losses were to the Indian Valley Braves and the Claymont Mustangs. We are looking to build on last year’s successes and hope to be playing our best softball come tournament time.
For the third year in a row, we have had more than 120 young ladies between the ages of 6-14 years old sign up to play softball in the local rec league. This last summer, we had our 14u and 12u County Rec teams combine to go 37-0 and both teams won their age group championship! With our continued growth, we are looking at potentially having two 14u teams next summer and because our middle school program is not run through the school or the OHSAA, we cover the league and umpire fees along with providing the girls with team equipment and uniforms every summer.
This offseason, we took advantage of a promotion and ordered 20 new uniform sets and received 20 free jerseys. We now need to finish the free jerseys with matching pants and new socks and long sleeve compression undershirts for both uniforms. In addition to finishing off the new uniforms, we will need to purchase new batting helmets, practice shirts, game-day hoodies, and windbreakers for our incoming freshmen.
In addition to our Business Sponsors, our girls put in the work to help raise money. This year we had our 2nd Annual Alumni Game which was another huge success. The girls worked the concession stand, sold 50/50 tickets, worked the food line, parked cars, ran the scoreboard, and worked the game as umpires. We also parked cars during the Swiss Festival and worked in the Fritter Tent.
